| IOC appoints Daniel Trenton to 1st Summer Youth Olympic Games
The IOC has appointed Daniel Trenton to the 1st Summer Youth Olympic Games as an Athlete Role Model. This important appointment shows the high regard the IOC has for Daniel, a Silver medallist at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In making the appointing, IOC President Jacque Rogge stated "Your success as an athlete and your life experiences will serve as an invaluable model for the Young Olympians who will be competing in Singapore." |
| STA Victorian Open Championship
The STA Victorian Open Championship featuring sparring & poomsae for colour and black belts from 6 years of age will be held at the State Netball & Hockey Centre, Parkville on Sunday 25 July, 2010. This tournament is open to all athletes. |
| Mahir Unalan 1980 - 2010 Mahir Unalan, a past instructor with the club, was killed tragically on the 3rd July 2010. Mahir represented Australia Internationally on several occasions, was a member of the Olympic Shadow Team and a past national Champion. Mahir was a coach, Instructor and friend to many club members and members of the wider Taekwondo community. The news of his passing was a great shock and he will be missed by many. Our deepest sympathy goes to his family and friends.

| VTA Demonstration VTA will be performing at the Glen Eira City Council Party in the Parks. The demonstration is scheduled to start at 1:20pm on Sunday the 28th February. The Party in the Parks event will run from 12:00 to 4:00pm |

| TRAINING EQUIPMENT: If students are interested in purchasing training shoes, kicking mitts or other protective gear such as chest guards, head guards and arm and shin guards, they should contact the instructors so that the equipment can be ordered for them. Prices are available from the instructors. |
